Well, today ended the third day of school for me. Full time job and full
time school. And I'm not as young as I used to be! Seems I'm tired all the time. lol School is exciting. I'm going to become a licensed Esthetician.
Then you know what I'll be? An Herbal Esthetician. There's not many of
us in the country. :) You know me, I like being the first or one of the first. :)
I've been taking a coaching course online with the creme de la creme of business coaches, Donna Maria Coles Johnson at http://www.indiebeauty.com Tonite it's on getting your blog going, so here I am, trying to get this going again.
Let me know what you would like to talk about.

An herbal esthetician? That's great! You mean you'll be like a regular esthetician, but you'll be specifically educated to help me use herbs to help my skin? That sounds fantastic! Please share some of the information you're learning about what herbs do what for different skin types. Can I mix a fresh herbs with olive oil for my "maturing" skin? My daughter's mild case of "itchies"? I wouldn't call it eczema, but her legs itch from time to time and nothing seems to help.
Hi Donna Maria, I'm happy to see you here!
Well, since I am an herbalist already, that's how I know what herbs and oils to use for formulating my products, when I get my training and license, that will make me an herbal esthetician. In school I'm learning how to specifically care for the skin. And of course, as I learn what do look for, I'll be able to apply my herbal knowledge with that, to create products. I've had so many estheticians that buy sea buckthorn from me, tell me things on how they love how sea buckthorn seed oil works in their practices, but I never really understood them. Now I will! And one gal asked me to make a face wash, as opposed to using the bar soap, now I understand WHY. I love learning and this is exactly what I need to learn.
For your daughter, I would suggest getting 16 oz of any oil and putting 2 oz of calendula petals in it, letting it soak, [infuse] in a crock pot for at least 1 week on warm, strain and then apply to her itchy spots. If you want it harder, you can melt some beeswax [in an old pot you don't use for food] and heat up the oil and add it to the oil. As long as you don't hold the heated oil at a high temp for longer than 30 min, it shouldn't kill the beneficials in your infused oil. If you want it stronger, let it sit in the warm crock for 2 weeks. Stir occasionally.
