INFORMATION ON WEBSITE & PRODUCT INFO We have information throughout this website. READ THIS SITE. We are proud of the products we make because they WORK. BSN is as herbal and as natural as possible. Two of us [and sometimes friends] do everything with running this business.

THIS means the website isn't always updated as quickly as the new batches are made. There ARE variances in product colors OR aromas due to batch of herb or oil used, or how long it was infused or any other number of things.

ALL products are tipped over in transit to you, therefore some product may get on the inside of the lid. Scrape it off! No, we will not send you a new jar. If the container has no label, we'll send you one if you'd like. For crying out loud, do not send the product back! If product is darker or lighter or whatever than the previous product, THAT is due to the variances noted above.

And remember, just as God didn't make YOU perfect, He SURE didn't make ME perfect, I am totally and always a work in process. If there's something you don't like about what I say or my products, let me know. I'll try to make it better for you. If I can't, I'll have someone else call you that is REALLY diplomatic. ;-)

Q: Do you have samples?

A: Not of everything, and sometimes. Never for seabuckthorn oils.

Q: The bottle leaked. What do I do?

A: Email me and let me know. We will discuss how it's handled.

Q: I didn't put my seabuckthorn oil in the refrigerator right away and it took about 10 days to ship here. How do I tell if it's rancid?

A: It won't be rancid. The oils have a 3 year shelf life for external use and 18 months for internal use.

They won't go rancid for a really long time. I did not keep them under refrigeration for the first 4 years I was using and selling them. It's only been recently that it has come to light they need refrigeration. So you don't have to worry about rancidity. They are SO FULL of vitamin e and other things, it's rare for it to be rancid.

Q: How long do I have to use the credit on file?

A: The credit on file needs to be used within the year it was given.

Q: Why don't have you a lot of spa products?

A: Because first and foremost, Blue Sage Naturals is all about making skin care for serious skin problems. Our focus is on formulating products for various and sundry skin problems for ourselves and others. I manufacture products that help me and mine. I am a licensed esthetician and am currently formulating spa products as well as the products for serious skin care. Blue Sage Naturals offers a few spa-type products.

Q: Why don't you use grapefruit seed extract as a preservative? I see a lot of 'natural' companies use it.

A: Because all but one grapefruit seed extract has a paraben preservative in it to preserve it. It's not a requirement to put that additive on the bottle of GSE, so the manufacturers don't need to put it on their label, legally. However, we don't work just 'legally', we also work honestly. There is one that does not use a preservative to preserve it, however grapefruit seed extract alone, is NOT going to preserve anything with water in it.

We have found a preservative that has no formaldehyde precursors in it, no parabens, no potassium sorbate. And it works.

POSTASSIUM SORBATE aka Preservative (202), is in almost every food we eat. It makes meat stay red in the grocery, among other things. About 2% of the population is allergic to Potassium sorbate. Read this for more info: Potassium Sorbate

I am one that is allergic to potassium sorbate and I found out the hard way. I am also of the 2 % that is allergic to topical cinnamon. [Just a thought, don't eat foods with preservatives, maybe that will boost immune systems]

Q: Why don't you offer free shipping after a person buys a certain amount?

A: Because we don't build the shipping expense in the cost of the products. Most companies do, however I ran a poll and 85% of those that voted said they would rather not have higher per item prices to compensate for shipping. That's my opinion also. Be up front about what the price is, don't try to sneak around saying..'FREE SHIPPING' when the price is built into the product. That is dishonest to me.

Q: I have very dry skin, what do I use?

A: All products on Blue Sage Naturals were made for me, first. I have very dry skin. ANY of the moisturizers and/or face serums are for dry skin. Read the description and choose what you want.

Q: Do you use stuff that a lot of people are allergic too?

A: No we don't. No peanut oil, mineral oil, talc or lanolin.

Q: What if I find out I'm allergic to it? Can I return it?

A: Please see the Returns page.

Q: I see soaps that are coconut oil, olive oil and palm kernel or soybean. Is that all you use in yours?

A: No, we don't use plain filler oils. And we no longer use soybean oil in our soaps. That's why our soaps sell so fast. We use cocoa butter, rice bran oil, palm oil, shea butter, palm kernel oil, caramel butter, coconut oil and NOP Certified organic sea buckthorn seed oil, NOP certified organic seabuckthorn berry oil and other rich oils. As you can see we fill our soaps with lots of good oils & infused oils.
Our soaps are elegantly simple with the highest quality oils available.

Q: Do you have the organic certification for the sea buckthorn seed oil? And if so, may I see it?

Q: Do you use chemicals in your products?

A: Yes. The preservatives and the surfactants in the shampoo are chemicals. As they are with EVERY single shampoo made. These surfactants are what makes the lather. The surfactant I use is very mild and necessary. I do NOT use sulfates in my shampoo. It is sulfate free, TEA free and all the other junk you see in so-called 'natural' shampoos. We also use allantoin in the shampoo, which is a skin protectant. Allantoin and some fragrance oils are also in the Skn Savr™.

Q: Are your products considered drugs?

A: No, our products are moisturizers, astringents and cleansers. Blue Sage Naturals' products make you look better and feel better. What you use them for is beyond our control.

Q: Do you sell or give away my personal information?

A: Never! Your personal information is safe here.

Q: Are your servers secure?

A: Yes, the servers are secure. You can always tell if you look on the bottom bar of the browser you are using. There is a padlock. Shut, it is locked, open it is unlocked.

Q: Do you test on animals?

A: No, we do not test on animals, however animals are helped by some of our products, such as the sea buckthorn seed oil and Relief N Rescue™. 7/26/06 update. A gal used our Comfrey Ointment on her dogs paw, where he's licked ALL the hair/fur off. She says it's healing.

Just for an FYI, animals are used in testing for almost every product on earth. That is the reality of it. I don't know any person willing to be injected with a tumor causing or cancer causing injection, in order to be given something that might help them. If you do, please let the scientists know, I'm sure they would rather test on real live human beings.
I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it's a fact. Tests are always conducted on animals if tests are being done by scientists/researchers on products.

To achieve greatest efficacy of our salves, we use as little unbleached beeswax as possible in our products, leaving the ingredients more room to be on your skin. If your product gets warm & looks like there's oil on top, just stir it!
